He was the Minister of Youth and Sports from 2018 to 2020. He is the Member of Parliament (MP) of Muar and the former Youth Chief of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), which was component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition until 24 February 2020. He now moves as an independent politician with [[Mahathir Mohamad]] and 3 other politicians that was sacked out by [[Muhyiddin Yassin]], the president and acting chairman of BERSATU Party on 28 May 2020.
