He has described himself as a pan-Turkist and Turanist. He has many supporters among idealists due to his political views based on Pan-Turkism. He has stated in interviews that he is not an idealist. He became a trending topic in Turkey and partly in the world with the videos he published on YouTube. Among the accusations made against Sedat Peker, who is wanted with a Red Notice: instigation to kill intentionally and deliberately, establishing and managing an armed organization for the purpose of committing crimes, incitement to commit armed robbery by taking advantage of the intimidating power of an existing criminal organization, usury and intentional wounding with a weapon. ==Biography== Peker first encountered prison at the age of seventeen. Due to his young age, he was addressed as Reis by his circle. Peker later had the name Reis added to his name by a court order, making it Reis Sedat Peker. In 1990, Peker separated from his partner after the service of an automobile maintenance company he founded with his partner Bülent Kılıç was defrauded, and he formed an illegal organization and was involved in many crimes. In 1997, he appeared before the prosecutor for the murder of smuggler Abdullah Topçu in Rize and was released. Two of Peker's men were sentenced to life imprisonment in the same case. After the acquittal, he fled to Romania and was sought for, amongst others, protection racketeering, coercion, and incitement to murder. During this time it was reported that Peker had been visited by a minister and a member of parliament from the Motherland Party and guaranteed, in return for an unknown favor, to be only imprisoned for a short period of time. As of 2022, Peker revealed that the favour that secured his release was to turn in a cassette footage of then PM Mesut Yılmaz being beaten up in Hungary because of his gambling debts. In September 1998, a lawsuit was filed against Peker and his men, requesting a prison sentence of up to seven and a half years. He was tried for forming a gang with twelve other defendants, and was released on May 24, 1999. He was held in prison for eight months and twenty-nine days. He was arrested on 12 March 2005 as part of Operation Kelebek conducted by the İstanbul Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department. The case heard at the İstanbul 9th High Criminal Court was concluded on 31 January 2007, and he was sentenced to 14 years, 5 months and 10 days in prison. Peker was also tried at the İzmir 10th High Criminal Court on charges of "establishing an organization", "threat", "shooting up a workplace", "causing injury", "limiting liberty", "looting" and "using a fake identity". He was tried for "establishing an armed terrorist organization" in the Ergenekon trials . The overturned part of the Operation Kelebek trial was reconsidered, and Sedat Peker was given a sentence of 1 year and 3 months in prison. Thus, another 1 year and 3 months was added to his sentence. Sedat Peker was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the Ergenekon case , which was decided by the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court on 5 August 2013. On 10 March 2014, he was released due to the changes in the law regarding the decisions of specially authorized courts and because his detention period exceeded five years. Sedat Peker, who was sentenced to 9 years in prison on March 12, 2005 in the Ergenekon case, was released on March 10, 2014. After his release from prison, he continued to work as a businessman for 5 years. He fled the country on November 30, 2019. There are different allegations as to why he fled the country. As part of the investigation that continued for approximately 19 months, an operation was carried out against Peker and his men on April 9, 2021. Of the 61 suspects detained, 10 were arrested and sent to prison. Despite the increasing rumors that Sedat Peker had fled abroad at the beginning of 2020, Peker stated on his official Instagram account on February 3, 2020, that he had been in the Balkans for two months and was currently residing in Montenegro and staying in this country for his university education. Sedat Peker was arrested in Skopje , North Macedonia , on January 18, 2021 , for abusing his residence permit and was deported to Turkey via Kosovo. However, it was revealed that he did not come to Turkey and fled to Morocco and then Dubai , where he established a company and obtained residence permits. Peker stated in his statements on May 2, 2021 that he was not deported, but left the Balkan countries because his visa had expired. On April 9, 2021, a simultaneous operation was carried out in 5 provinces in Istanbul against Sedat Peker and his criminal organization. In the operations carried out in Ankara , Kocaeli , Trabzon and Hatay , as well as Istanbul , many suspects were detained, but it was stated that Sedat Peker was abroad. As part of the operation, police teams started a search at Sedat Peker's villa in Beykoz . His lawyer stated in a statement that Sedat Peker had been abroad for a year and a half. On May 9, 2021, Sedat Peker released the third video series he started after the operations against him, revealing that he was in Dubai and saying that he would not return to Turkey. ===Whistle-blower=== In May 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey, he started a confession video series on YouTube announcing one video each Sunday about the deep state in Turkey. He accused Tolga Ağar, son of former interior minister Mehmet Ağar, of raping and murdering Kazakh student Yeldana Kaharman. In addition, he alleged Mehmet Ağar's role in the killing of Kutlu Adalı, and alleged Ağar's involvement, along with former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım's son Erkam and former interior minister Süleyman Soylu, in an international drug trafficking scheme. He later accused SADAT, founded by retired Brigadier General and former presidential advisor Adnan Tanrıverdi, of being involved in the arms shipment to Al-Nusra Front during the Syrian Civil War On December 12, 2021, 140journos released a documentary on YouTube featuring him and some prominent journalists and political figures like former Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç of Turkey. The documentary touched on the impact of the deep state in Turkey on the political and judicial system and how Sedat Peker's involvement with the government scandals started. He also accuses the Minister of the interior, Süleyman Soylu, of having betrayed him after having protected him.
