Was an Ukrainian police officer turned serial killer. He killed 36 women and little girls from 1984-2005. He was arrested in August, 2005. Many other men were wrongfully imprisoned for Serhiy's killings. One of the men wrongfully jailed killed himself, and another was not released until 2012.
Early Life:
Serhiy Tkach was born on September 12, 1952, in Kiselyovisk, Russia SFSR, Soviet Union. He served in the army in Soviet Union. He also claimed to be a veteran of the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan. He was a police criminal investigator in Kemerovo Oblast. After he was caught making up false evidence he was forced to resign.

Arrest:
Serhiy Tkach attended one of his victims funeral, and some of the children there told the police they saw him with the victim last. He was arrested in his home where he later admitted to over 100 murders and demanded the death penalty, but he was only found guilty of 36, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
