Burg apparently testified at the trial of noted Holocaust denier [[Ernst Zündel]] in 1988; however nobody named "Joseph Burg" was involved in the trial, nor do any records of an inmate at Auschwitz named Joseph Burg exist, so it is widely accepted that Smoloko invented Burg.
