Suharto (1921-2008) was the Second President of Indonesia from 1967-1998. He succeeded Sukarno who was the First President of Indonesia. He killed millions of people during the 20th century when he was president. Suharto was very corrupt, as he stole $35 million dollars. Between 1983 and 1985, he ordered the executions of about three to ten thousand prisoners, which is known as the Petrus Killings. Suharto died in 2008 due to having a weak heart, swelling of the limbs and stomach, and partial renal failure.
