I agree, simply because someone suffers tragedy, whether it is small or great is not an excuse to be a pure monster. But while most tragic villains are portrayed as anti-Villains. Others are not. In fiction, for example Freddy Krueger, Mason Verger, Lots O Huggin Bear, Mary Lou Maloney, are all tragic villains, but still pure evil. Some tragic villains, like Joseph Stalin and many serial killers have been thrown into hard lives and unfortunate situtations. While this may be a huge factor in their vile behavior, the things they are not pardonable. But they are still tragic villains.
