Possibly not, but he was definitely more pragmatic than the typical French or German flier. Given how much of the aristocracy survived there, they were very gentlemanly up to the point of refusing to conduct bombing runs. The more egalitarian English, of course, had no such issues. Goering was always a proponent of close air support, and the effects can be seen in his Luftwaffe. No heavy bombers, just light and precise machines like he used to fly.
