"Controversial"?

We need to add some criteria on what constitutes someone being "controversial". I'm seeing the word being thrown around a lot on this page, with no context as to how these people could be considered controversial, especially in cases where it's not immediately obvious to the reader (the "Entertainment Industry" section is the worst offender in this regard - Stephen Hillenburg? I think there was some sort of big controversy about a girl committing suicide right after playing DDLC. A lot of people blamed the game itself and called it dangerous. I'd hazard a guess that that's why some people consider it's creator to be a "villain". Although of course it wasn't his fault and it's silly for people to blame him or DDLC, hence probably why he's not allowed.

On this note, I actually considered the possibly that this might be the reason why Leon dislikes DDLC, but it seems way too contradictory of his personality. I can't see why he'd dislike a game that allgedly caused a girl to kill herself. Regarding the disallowed page

I think for the disallowed page, as there's a 1000+ pointers that say "controversial". I think we should revamp this to be a rule on the wiki; people/actions are ONLY eligible IF they are either the following;

• A terrorist/criminal (theft, robbery, abuse, etc)
• A crime against humanity (torture, etc)

I was expecting something like "art-tracing/theft, internet drama" on there, but nope, I guess nobody put it up. Maybe instead of something like this huge list, maybe a standards page instead, like crimes/terrorists acts that make subjects eligible, and must have appropriate evidence to cite such actions. --Dorothy Nightingale (talk) 05:46, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the only person who knows the answer to that question would be the user who added you on the list. This was done back when this site was still hosted on FANDOM, so the account no longer exists. My only guess is that some users like to add random YouTubers or celebrities on the list with vague mentions of the person being "controversial" or "internet drama", so it's probably something to do with that. There has been a page made on Guantanamo Bay ( which is on the forbidden list ) but please don’t delete it.

First off, I don’t really understand why it was forbidden in the first place. It is a torture camp where tons of people ( including a literal child ) were violently tortured ( yes, a lot of these people did some bad things, but nobody deserves torture ), which seems evil enough. If you want to proceed on this subject you should provide authoritative sources to back yourself up, so it is impossible for replies to be 'nuh uh' or 'I don't see it'. If there is no sourcing it is simply your statements which likely will not break the rule. This is especially important as there would be many people who would get salty about such a page and it would need to have very strong backing to survive and earn the protection of the wiki's management against people with counterarguments, British patriots and even outright trolls. So, do your homework with clear sources and content worthy of a full page, and come back with the results. The otus is on you to change the rule, not on others to do it for you.

Side note regarding the first reply: calling people 'idiot' helps absolutely nothing and only looks, well, idiotic in a civil discussion.

On the music section, there's an entry for George Strait, saying "just a controversial singer and musician". Now, I agree that George Strait shouldn't have an article, but the thing is, I have literally never seen or heard of any controversies surrounding George Strait. In fact, in the country music community, he is almost universally loved (he's even called the King of Country).
