Therese Brandl (1st February 1902-28th January 1948) was a Concentration Camp guard.
Brandl was trained at Ravensbruck concentration camp under Johanna Langefeld, and was then sent to Auschwitz Birkenau, where she worked with Maria Mandel and Margot Dreschel. Brandl assisted in the selections and physically abused prisoners, especially children. One survivor recalled:
“ | In November 1944, all children were transferred to Camp A, the gypsy camp. When they counted us, one was found missing, so Mandl, manageress of the women’s camp and her assistant, Brandl, drove us out into the street at one in the morning and made us stand there in the frost until noon the next day. | „ |
After the war, Brandl was arrested and shared a cell with Mandel, before being hanged in 1948.
