In 2006, his 17-month-old daughter Alayiah Turman accidentally knocked the Xbox over after pulling on one of the cords, causing Spellman to fly into a rage and begin to brutally beat Alayiah, cracking her skull, before throwing her across the room. She later died of her injuries. Spellman was convicted of third degree [[Murder]] and child endangerment and sentenced to 47 years in jail.
