On 26 February 2009, he, [[Nebojša Pavković]], [[Nikola Šainović]], [[Sreten Lukić]] and [[Dragoljub Ojdanić]] were convicted of [[war crimes]] and [[crimes against humanity]] committed during the [[Kosovo War]]. Lazarević was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
