Vsevolod Apollonovych Balitsky (27th November 1892 - 27th November 1937) was a Ukrainian member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and a senior member of the NKVD. He was responsible for overseeing The Holodomor in Ukraine, and later became head of the far east branch of the NKVD following the execution of his predecessor Terenty Deribas. On 7th July 1937, Stalin, who sought to have him removed from his position as part of the Great Purge, had Genrikh Lyushkov order Balitsky's arrest. He was sentenced to death and shot on 27th November 1937.
