The Wagner Group (Russian: Группа Вагнера), also known as PMC Wagner, ChVK Wagner (ChVK being the Russian abbreviation for Private Military Company),[37] or CHVK Vagner (ЧВК Вагнера ChVK Vagnera, Частная Военная Компания Вагнера), is a Russian paramilitary organization. It is variously described as a private military company, a network of mercenaries, or a de facto private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
