On the evening of June 23, 2023, Yevgeny Prigozhin reported that Russian troops had attacked the positions of the Wagner PMCs. On June 24, Meduza published an article exposing the claim that the attack on the PMCs camp was staged. The same evening, Prigozhin announced the beginning of an armed conflict with the Ministry of Defense.
