Prior to the attack, he was reportedly under surveillance due to his connections to Al-Muhajiroun.

== London Bridge Attack ==
Shortly before the attack, Zaghba was filmed on CCTV meeting with [[Khuram Butt]] and [[Rachid Redouane]], the other two attackers, outside the Ummah Fitness Centre, where Butt worked. Soon after, on 3rd June 2017, Butt drove a van containing him, Redouane and Zaghba through a crowd of pedestrians, killing two. After the van eventually crashed, the three got out wearing fake suicide vests and holding knives. Several people were stabbed and killed by the attackers, before Zaghba was attacked by [https://real-life-heroes.fandom.com/wiki/Ignacio_Echeverría_Miralles_de_Imperial Ignacio Echeverría Miralles de Imperial], a Spanish lawyer who beat him to the ground with a skateboard before being stabbed to death by Butt and Redouane. After eight people were killed by the attackers, including the two who were run over by Khuram Butt, several armed police officers arrived. As Butt, Redouane and Zaghba ran towards them, all three were gunned down and killed. They were subsequently refused the right to an Islamic burial by over 120 imams.
