'''Yudai Hunado''' (1985 -) is an unemployed man who committed domestic violence against [[Yuri Hunado|his wife]] and abused and killed his daughter along with his wife in March 2018. He was arrested on March 3 and rearrested on July 11, 2018, after dried cannabis was found in his bag.

== Biography ==
Yudai Hunado has been abusing his daughter, Yua Hunado since she was three years old, and she was taken into temporary custody at the prefectural child guidance center twice in 2016 and 2017. When he was taken into custody in 2017, daughter had visible wounds and bruises on his lips, both knees, and abdomen, but his parents denied assaulting their daughter. In both cases, protection was lifted for reasons such as parents' temporary redemption, lack of evidence, and daughter's own concern to future after being protected. Since late January 2018, he has been malnourishing his daughter by not giving her enough food, and in late February, despite his daughter's weakness and clear poor physical health, he left his daughter without seeing a doctor for fear of being found abusive, and on March 2, his daughter died of sepsis caused by pneumonia.

== After daughter's death ==
On March 3, 2018, Yudai Hunado, and on June 6th, 2018, Yuri Hunado and he were arrested on [[Domestic Abuse|neglect]]. Yuri Hunado gave a detailed account of the domestic abuse committed by Yudai Hunado, and both men pleaded guilty to the charges.

On October 15, the Tokyo District Court sentenced Yudai Hunado to 13 years in prison, which was confirmed. This incident had a major impact on Japan's laws and regulations regarding corporal punishment and abuse, and further strengthened the cooperation between child guidance centers and the police. Later, several cases of abuse, corporal punishment, and bullying came to light.
