- February 15 - End of the Seven Years' War.
- December 14 to 27 - The Conestoga Massacre: on December 14, a group of vigilantes calling themselves the "Paxton Boys" attack Conestoga Town, Pennsylvania, and kill six Susquehannock Native Americans. 13 days later on December 27 the group attacks Lancaster Gaol, where the Susquehannock had been moved for their own protection, and kill 14. Only two Susquehannock survive, leading to the eventual extinction of the tribe.
- Unknown - American Indian Wars: the French and Indian War ends with a British victory, and the Kingdom of France cedes its New France territory to Great Britain.
