However, [[UNITA]] declares the results as fraudulent and resume hostilities against the government, restarting the Angolan Civil War. * October 4 - End of the Mozambican Civil War. * October 18 - Beginning of the Croat-Bosniak War. * October 30 to November 1 - The [[Halloween Massacre]] takes place in Luanda, Angola when government forces massacre thousands in an attempt to force UNITA out of the city. * November 2 - The [[Irish People's Liberation Organization]] is dissolved. * November 20 - [[Emomali Rahmon]] is elected President of Tajikistan. * Unknown - Rwandan [[Hutu Power]] activists break away from [[MRND]] to form the [[Coalition for the Defence of the Republic]]. * Unknown - The [[Special Anti-Robbery Squad]] is established as part of the Nigerian Police Force. * Unknown - [[Bernadette Protti]] is released from prison on parole after only serving seven years.
