Abeku Wilson was the perpetrator of the 2017 Equinox Gym shooting.

Wilson was a well-liked personal trainer working at an Equinox gym in Coral Gables, Florida. On 8 April 2017 he was sacked from this job after a physical altercation with fellow employee Marios Hortis. Later that day, Wilson returned with a gun and shot manager Janine Ackerman dead. He then shot Hortis, critically wounding him, before committing suicide. Hortis died of his injuries the next day.
