Anis Amri (22 December 1992 - 23 December 2016) was an asylum seeker from Tunisia when he left in 2011 and arrived in Germany in 2016 was suspected and later confirmed by the German authorities of attacking a Christmas market in Berlin on 19 December 2016. He drove a truck straight through the busy market and killed 12 people while injuring 48.

He managed to escape after the attack but was later killed in a shootout with the Italian police in Milan, Italy, he was stopped for a document check.

Prior to that, he was instructed by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant to carry out the attack.
