Anthony Salerno
Anthony Salerno was an American gangster and crime leader who served as the front boss of the Genovese crime family in New York City from 1981 until his conviction in 1986.
Salerno was known to be rather successful with his crime business, profitting the largest numbers racket operation in New York in the 1960s. He was able to gross up to $50 million per year. However, he was eventually arrested on January 13, 1987, being sentenced to 100 years in prison without parole and fined $240,000 for his crimes.
He later passed away from diabetes and possible prostate cancer on July 27, 1992 in Springfield, Missouri.
