Art theft is a crime which someone steals a painting or a sculpture from a museum or a gallery.

In August 21, 1911, at the museum of Louvre in Paris, France, Vincenzo Peruggia stole the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. He was caught and arrested at his apartment in Florence, Italy on 1913.
