Asiaphobia is a hatred, dislike, or fear of people of Asian people. This can include East Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian people.
Asiaphobia has sadly seen a tremendous resurgence beginning in 2020 in the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, as it has been reported that hate crimes against Asians have increased dramatically. This has been mostly due to the fact that the virus originated in China, with some mockingly referring to COVID-19 as the "Chinese Virus".
Even though Middle East, some parts of Turkey and Russia, and Central Asia are geographically in Asia, they are often put on a separate category, though they can sometimes be included in Asiaphobia.
