=== Pezzotta Murder === On the 24th January 2004, Nicola Sapone orders Andrea Volpe to kill Mariangela Pezzota, Andrea Volpe's ex-girlfriend, since she knows too much details about the death of Fabio Tollis and Chiara Marino. So, Volpe invites Pezzotta to dinner in the Golasecca hut under the pretext of a videotape to be returned. While Elisabetta Ballarin, her new girlfriend, is in the kitchen preparing two doses of speedball, he shoots her twice in the face, without killing her. Volpe and Ballarin, in altered conditions due to the drugs they had taken, call Sapone, who finishes off Mariangela Pezzota with a shovel in the greenhouse in front of the chalet. He returns to his own home in Dairago, near Legnano. Before leaving, he orders to wash away all traces of blood and to bury Pezzotta in the garden, pushing his car into the river. Once Pezzotta is buried, Ballarin drives the victim's car to make it slide into the Villoresi canal near the Panperduto dam in Somma Lombardo with Volpe following her in his car. However, she is unable to drive the car into the river and gets stuck on a low wall, due to the altered psychophysical conditions due to the use of cocaine and heroin. Volpe gets out of his car and notices the condition of the Ballarin, now close to collapse. So, she goes to a nearby parking lot, calling for help and going into a rage. He declares to a carabinieri patrol who initially rushed to the scene that he and his girlfriend had been attacked by some thugs, while they were secluded in the car, but the carabinieri quickly realize that in reality the couple had had a car accident caused from taking drugs and alcohol and had both young people transported to the hospital. Here Elisabetta, still under the influence of the drug, begins to grumble and repeat seemingly disconnected phrases concerning the death of a certain "Mariangela". At this point the carabinieri and the prosecutor begin to investigate and the following day Pezzotta's body is found in the greenhouse of the Ballarin chalet, where she had been buried and she still breathed.
