Sexual abuse scandal edit

In 2011, a former student accused Hewitt of sexually harassing and abusing her when she was ten. As a result, the Boston Globe investigated Hewitt, and discovered that another woman claimed to have been abused by Hewitt when she was a child. Another investigation by sports journalist Mary Carillo discovered even more women accusing Hewitt of sexually abusing them as children. He was charged with child sex offences in 2014, and was eventually convicted in 2015 and sentenced to six years imprisonment. His name has since been expelled from the tennis hall of fame.
