Saïd Kouachi (7 September 1980 – 9 January 2015) and Chérif Kouachi (29 November 1982 – 9 January 2015) were French brothers born in Paris to Algerian immigrants, were main suspects of the 2015 Charlie Hebdo shooting that killed 12 and injured 11. They identified themselves as belonging to the Islamist terrorist group Al-Qaeda's branch in Yemen, which took responsibility for the attack.
