==Murder==
On 26 October 2001, Mallard was driving home while under the influence of marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol when her car hit the homeless pedestrian Gregory Glenn Biggs. The force of the impact left Biggs lodged in the car's windscreen. Rather than call an ambulance, Mallard drove home with Biggs still lodged in her windscreen, parked in the garage and had sex with her boyfriend in the house, leaving the critically injured Biggs in the garage. Despite being a former nurse's aide, Mallard decided not to administer first aid or call emergency services over the next few days, and Biggs eventually died of his injuries a day or two later. Mallard and two accomplices then dumped Biggs's body in a nearby park and burned the car in order to conceal any evidence of a crash.
