The murder occurred outside a bar in San Francisco's Mission District, when Ablett saw Guardado wearing Hells Angels patches, and stabbed him with a knife and shot him with a magnum revolver. Once his identity was released to the public, the Hells Angels began hunting him down seeking vengeance. The San Francisco police attempted to arrest him at his residence but he was not at home. Approximately a month later, Ablett turned himself in at a police station in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In May of 2009, Ablett was sentenced to life in prison.
