Daniel Dean Egtvedt is a businessman who assaulted capitol officers during the 2021 United States Capitol storming.

Background[edit]

Egtvedt was a fairly well-connected professional. Before the riots, Egtvedt has been invited to visit the White House at least twice in his life. Egtvedt was a strong affiliate of the Trump Administration, with certain social media photos showing that he has met and has been honored by several Republican officials such as Lara Trump, Dan Crenshaw, and Mike Pence. He has also been invited to the 2018 White House Christmas party where he met well-known actor Jon Voight.

Beside all his fame and glory however, was his staunch fanaticism of Donald Trump. Egtvedt, a die-hard supporter of Trump, was also a strong QAnon supproter, and often supported and condoned their outrageous claims. He was one of many people that believed that COVID-19 was a hoax, and was later one of many to claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen by the Democrats.

The Riots[edit]

Egtvedt was one of many to show up to Trump's Save America Rally. Inside the U.S. Capitol, Egtvedt was one of several rioters to be interviewed by Anthime Joseph Gionet.

Police later attempted to arrest Egtvedt. However, he tried to fight back arrest and ended up assaulting officers further. At least five officers were needed to take down Egtvedt's resistance, one of which ruptured his shoulder in the process. Egtvedt was eventually arrested and charged with four felony counts regarding his involvement in the riots.
