Dedrick Owens (1993-) was a 6 year old boy who shot and killed Kayla Rolland in February 29, 2000 at their school.
Shooting edit
In February 29, 2000, Dedrick Owens brought a firearm and a knife to his school.
Further the day, while the change of classes, Dedrick Owens shot his classmate, Kayla Rolland, in front of his teacher and twenty two classmates, after Dedrick said to Kayla: "I don't like you.".
Dedrick Owens then threw the gun at the trash and hid in a nearby restroom.
He was found by a teacher and was taken into police custody soon after.
At 10:29 AM, Rolland was pronounced dead at Hurley Medical Center while in cardiac arrest.

Dedrick Owens is currently the youngest school shooter in the United States of America, and possibly, the world.
Jamelle James (Dedrick Owens's uncle) was arrested due to leaving his gun at a shoe box, which easily made Dedrick Owens steal it and use it for the shooting.
He was arrested for two years and five months.
Buell Elementary School closed two years later.
The school's campus was heavily damaged by arson in 2005.
The school was demolished in 2009.

- According to court records, Dedrick Owens was convicted at age 18 of a felony in connection of second-degree home invasion and larceny at a Bay City House in April 23, 2012.
- Rolland's killing was documented in the 2002 movie, "Bowling for Columbine".
