Β Elva Bottineau was a Canadian woman who was convicted for the murder of her five year old grandson Jeffrey Baldwin. She was also noted as to having physically and mentally abused him and his sister. She would lock them in a dark room, and she would force them to live in their own excrements in the room, and she would force them to eat on the floor while she and the other adults ate at the table. On November 30, 2002, Elva and her husband, Norman Kidman, called 911 to report that Jeffrey had stopped breathing. When the medics arrived at their house, they took special notice to the bruises and sores on the young boy's body. On March 19, 2003, Eva and her husband were charged for their part in Jeffrey's murder, and they were convicted of first-degree murder. The jury later informed to the judge that they used her grandchildren as a source of income to collect government suport checks, and they wouldn't bother to give anything back to the public. On 7 April 2006, they were charged with second-degree murder by Justice David Watt. Elva was sentenced to 22 years in prison, and her husband was given 20 years. After Jefferey's death, child aid laws were changed so that nothing like this could ever happen again. ==Video==
