Felipe Calderón Hinojosa (August 18, 1962-) He is a politician who served as president of Mexico from 2006 to 2012.
I take power for the National Action party. He is known for having started the War on Drugs.
Presidency
Felipe Calderón came to the presidency, in the 2006 elections in Mexico through for the National Action party, a party that took power in Mexico by defeating the Institutional Revolutionary Party an electoral fraud that would be discovered years later. The true winner would be Andrés Manuel López, however when giving the results, Calderón appeared with more votes. I take power on December 1, 2006.
War against drug.
As soon as entered the presidency began a war against drug trafficking which many people believed would give results. Calderón obtained the support of the United States and Colombia. This war caused bad things and caused the death of more than 600,000 people, among them soldiers who fought in it. Insecurity increased in Mexico, and no drug trafficker could ever be caugh.
