Femen is a militant feminist group that was formed in Ukraine on April 10, 2008 by Anna Hutsol. They are infamous for their topless and occasionally violent protests, which they say is them "fighting against the patriarchy". Some of their protests include stealing, fighting against police officers, and destroying statues. Since 2013, Inna Shevchenko has been leading the movement.
Known Incidents edit
- In July 2017, Femen members interrupted a jazz concert by Woody Allen.
- On December 25, 2017, a topless Femen member stole a baby Jesus statue in Vatican City when Pope Francis was delivering a Christmas mass.
