[[File:South-park-s11e02c07-pastor-phillips-sermon-16x9.jpg|thumb|288px|A fictional example of a Gay Camp as seen in South Park.]] '''Gay Camps''' are a controversial tool used by the far-right religious fundamentalists to try and "cure" homosexuality, often through prayer or drugs - it is heavily criticized as a form of spiritual abuse and often those who claim to have been "cured" are said to have undergone brainwashing or social stigma / religious abuse that forced them to suppress their homosexuality rather than "cure" it. Many people believe homosexuality is not a "condition" that can be "cured", and those within the LGBT community accuse Gay Camps of exploiting a long held myth that homosexuality is a choice or disease.
