'''Gerda Bernigau''', aka '''Jane Bernigau''' (5th October 1908 - 23rd March 1992) was an [[Schutzstaffel|''SS'']]'' Oberaufseherin'' from 1938 to 1945.

Born in Żagań, Poland, Gerda Bernigau began working at Lichtenburg [[Concentration Camp]] in 1938, and was promoted to chief wardress of all women's camps in the Gross-Rosen area, including Lichtenburg. [[Juana Bormann]] served under her until 1939, when she was transferred to Ravensbruck. She was transferred to Mathausen around 1943. She was later transferred to the main Gross-Rosen camp in 1944, when she was awarded the ''Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klass ohne Schwerter ''medal for her devotion to the Third Reich. 

In February 1945, Bernigau was relieved of her post and moved to Reichnau, where she was never prosecuted, although she was interrogated a few times while living in West Germany. She eventually died in 1992.
