Hermann Goring was a Nazi politician, military leader and fighter pilot during World War II and the commander of the Luftwaffe. He was also a Nazi war criminal and brought to trial after the war and was sentenced to death. H ewas requested to be shot rather than hanged and when this was turned down he commtied suicide by taking cyanide
