Ian Rylett is an English YouTube showrunner best known for being the founder of the American YouTube channel, SevenSuperGirls, the largest all-female collaboration channel on YouTube. The channel was later renamed SevenAwesomeKids, and had a number of side channels associated with the main account.
Rylett was eventually arrested on August 17, 2018 on accounts of child molestation and rape charges on a female minor that worked with the channel. Details reveal that he extorted the underage girl to undress in front of him and attempted to fire her off set and terminate her contract if she did not comply. The victim also mentioned receiving further counts of repeated groping from Rylett.
He ultimately pleaded guilty to all charges and he was sentenced to three months in prison. Furthermore, he faced an additional five years of probation and was barred from working with any people ages 18 or under for the rest of his life.
Following his crimes, the main SevenSuperGirls channel and all related side channels were terminated and demonetized due to YouTube's violation of endangerment of minors. The channel reached over 9.5 million subscribers before termination. YouTube eventually released a statement condemning the actions behind the channel and assuring the policies of child safety on the platform.
