Villiany edit

In May 2007, Bevel was arrested after one of his daughters accused him of incest, sexual abuse and rape, starting when they were children. She alledged that Bevel had molested her when she was six, and that he had repeatedly raped her. When Bevel was arrested, three others came forwards claiming that he had abused them as well.

During the four-day-trial, which included testimony from the first daughter, Bevel maintained his innocence. However, his guilt was proven when a recording of a phone conversation during which one of his daughters asked why he raped her, and he told her to use a vaginal douche to avoid getting pregnant next time, was played by prosecutors. Bevel was found guilty and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. He only served six months before dying of prostate cancer while awaiting an appeal.
