On April 27, 2017, Mikio Okamura, the first certified candidate of the Japan First Party, announced his candidacy for the 2017 Tokyo gubernatorial election, but on July 2, 2017, he was eliminated at the bottom of the list due to their discriminatory activities. From April 7 to April 21, 2019, all 12 candidates they fielded in the local elections were not elected. The reason for their rejection was that they were all discriminatory.
