Jonathan "Jonny" Cronin is a Las Vegas teacher and wrestling coach who taught at Sierra Vista High School. He was arrested for sexual misconduct on students, as well as making threats to assault students/faculty members for revealing his crimes.
Testimonies have stated that Cronin would do perverted and inappropriate actions while teaching, such as walking around topless, commenting on female students' body parts, and touching students in their rear and genital areas. A special-needs student who was on the school wrestling team even stated that he was "dry-humped" and groped in the genital area after wrestling practice. When students or other teachers felt suspicious about his actions, Cronin would threaten to "ski-mask" or physically assault them if they didn't keep his crimes a secret.
He was also known to cheat on and extort his girlfriend, most notably in the sense that he would take nude photos of her and call her a "sugar mama". He usually would show female students explicit photos of his girlfriend, telling them that they could be strippers or prostitutes.
Following his crimes coming to light, Cronin was fired and removed from campus entirely. He was ultimately arrested in April 2019 on four counts of sexual misconduct and one count of exhibit of obscene material to a minor. He additionally faces two counts of child abuse. He was sentenced to a 36 to 96-month suspended jail sentence, and is permanently registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
