José Barrionuevo Péna (born March 13, 1942) is a Spanish politician who was the Minister of Interior from 1982 to 1988. He is regarded as one of the most hated people to be in that position for his terroristic policies and ethnic discrimination towards Basque peoples. He was infamous for holding "dirty wars" against separatists and ETA, and was ultimately jailed from 1998 to 2001 because of this.

He was additionally tried for theft and misuse of public funds charges in 1993.
