'''Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr.''' (1977 - ????) was an American boy from Orange Country who in December 18th, 1989, murdered his classmate and love interest, Jacalyn Calabrese.

== Biography ==
Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr. was born in 1977, with unknown birth date.

He was a student in Cerro Villa Middle School, he was in love with another student called Jacalyn Calabrese.

Months before the murder, Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr. showed his .25 caliber shotgun to his friends, a relative said he did not know where Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr. got the gun.

In December 18th, 1989, Juan Manuel Cardenas Jr. went to Mall of Orange where he was meeting with his love interest, Jacalyn.

While showing off his gun to Jacalyn, she taunted him, saying that the gun wasn't real. 

Juan decided to shoot Jacalyn after she said that. 

One of the teenagers in the place, called Keli Edwards, saw Juan shooting Jacalyn and then looking at Keli with regret. 

Juan fled to the mall and hid in a friend's house, where police later found and arrested him.

In Jacalyn's funeral, boys and girls who were Jacalyn's classmates hugged each other while crying.

One year later, in 1990, Juan was sentenced to 1 year of jail, where he was released in 1991, in a unknown date.

He moved out of the United States of America and went to live with relatives on Mexico.

As of 2023, Juan's whereabouts are unknown.
