Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado (October 28, 1968) is a former lawyer and politician that was the president of Honduras and is accused of drug trafficking and money theft.

Early years and career edit
Hernández was born in Gracias, Honduras to Juan Hernández Villanueva and Elvira Alvarado Castillo, as the fifteenth of seventeen children. Her siblings include Hilda Hernández and Juan Antonio (Tony) Hernández, a former deputy now in US federal custody on drug charges. He has a master's degree in public administration from the State University of New York in Albany.
Juan Orlando Hernández, who represented the Department of Lempira since 2001, was elected President of the National Congress, where the National Party had a comfortable majority, on January 21, 2010, and took office four days later.
