Kurt Franz

Kurt Franz was an SS Officer and the Deputy Commander and then later the third and final commandant of the Treblinka Extermination Camp. Because of this, he was a major perpetrator of genocide during The Holocaust. He himself was responsible for the gassing of 7,600 Jewish survivors of the Bialystok ghetto Uprising that were deported to Treblinka on August 19, 1943. He was known for being cruel and sadistic to Sonderkommando Prisoners at Treblinka.
