She was responsible for hacking into the school district's computer system in order to cast false votes, doing so from other high school students' accounts. It was investigated that 117 votes were linked to her IP address, and that 246 votes were ultimately linked to her personal phone and computer. Both she and her daughter are facing felony charges for their crimes. She was ultimately fired from her job. She has refused to take a plea deal, and is expected to stand trial on January 31, 2022. If convicted, she faces 16 years in federal prison.
