Rogge was jailed at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas, in the 1970s for vehicle theft and large-scale theft. He was later convicted and sentenced to 25 years for a bank robbery in 1984 in Cayo Largo, Florida. In September 1985, he bribed a corrections officer and escaped from prison in Moscow, Idaho. He was born in Seattle, Washington. After his escape, he went to commit additional robberies to banks, including one at an Exchange Bank branch in El Dorado, Arkansas and at a bank in High Point, North Carolina in 1986.4 On January 24, 1990, Rogge he became the fugitive 430 that is added to the list of the ten most wanted of the FBI, where he remained for the next six years.2 5 6 He appeared on the television program, Unsolved Mysteries and five times in America's Most Wanted.2 In 1991, he robbed a bank in Webb City, Missouri. On May 19, 1996, Rogge turned himself in to the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala, after Guatemalan authorities had launched a human hunt when notified by someone who saw Rogge's photo on the FBI website.7 While He was a fugitive and spent time in Antigua, where he called himself Bill Young. Rogge robbed more than $ 2 million and approximately 30 banks in total, and is currently serving a 65-year sentence at USP Beaumont, Texas. He is scheduled to be released in 2047. He is credited with being the first in the list of the ten most wanted FBI to be apprehended on the internet.
