Lindsey Lowe is the Tennessee mother who killed her newborn twin sons in 2011.
Born in 1986 into a conservative Christian family, Lindsey Lowe was engaged to Jonathan Brooks, though at some point, she had an affair that resulted in her pregnancy. Lindsey's pregnancy was kept a secret from her fiancee, family, and friends; even when she continued to show while serving as a bridesmaid for a friend's wedding on September 10th, 2011. Lindsey's friends attributed her larger frame to just simple weight gain.
Late on the following evening (September 11th, 2011), Lindsey gave birth to twin boys in the bathroom of her parents' home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and in the early hours of the following day (September 12th), Lindsey turned heel by smothering her newborn sons to death. She dumped her babies' bodies inside a laundry basket, and they were found two days later, leading to Lindsey's arrest.
Afterwards, she confessed to killing her newborn babies, though she stated that she only wanted to keep them quiet. Regarding a motive, it was revealed that Lindsey's fiancee was not the father of the twins, but her lover was, and it was indicated that the murder was committed to hide the affair, as Lindsey mentioned her Christian family and added that she didn't want to "disappoint" anyone. On April 26th, 2013, Lindsey was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to at least 51 years in prison.
