~ Lolita City admin's advice to users. |
Lolita City is a child pornography site on the Dark Web. The site is multilingual, with English, Russian and Spanish speakers making up the majority of the platform.
History edit
Lolita City was set up in 2010, operating through the .onion domain and only accessible through the Tor browser. The site contained images of children (aged 17 and below, including near-newborns and toddlers) being sexually abused, with both softcore and hardcore images. Like adult pornography sites, Lolita City featured and promoted specific models whom fans could follow.
In October 2011, the hacktivist collective Anonymous launched "Operation Darknet", in an attempt to disrupt the activities of child porn sites accessed through hidden services. Lolita City was one of the targets, with Anonymous publishing the user names of 1,589 members of Lolita City and revealing that it contained over 100 gigabytes of child porn. A denial of service attack was then used on Lolita City, taking it offline.
However, this period was brief and Lolita City came back online (it has been suggested that the Anonymous attack increased its popularity). Videos became available on the site in 2012. By 2013, the site was thriving.
As there is no information on any police action taken against Lolita City, to date, its currently defunct.
