Martin O'Prey
Martin "Rook" O'Prey (4 August 1962 - 16 August 1991) was an Irish republican commander.
In September 1981, while a member of the Irish National Liberation Army, O'Prey murdered a British soldier named Mark Stockman. After the INLA collapsed in 1981, O'Prey and several other members broke away and formed the Irish People's Liberation Organization, where O'Prey became a brigade leader.
As a brigade leader O'Prey was a member of the squad that killed Loyalist George Seawright. He was also the ringleader of the Orange Cross Social Club shooting, during which one person was killed and several others were injured.
On 4 August 1991 a group of militants from the Ulster Volunteer Force burst into O'Prey's home in west Belfast. Two of them entered the living room and found O'Prey lying on the sofa in front of his daughter and another man. The UVF men shot O'Prey multiple times, killing him, before escaping. The others in the room were unharmed.
