Martin Van Buren (December 5, 1782 - July 24, 1862) was the 8th president of the United States of America, who also previously served as Vice President under Andrew Jackson. He helped enforce Jackson's Indian Removal Act as Vice President, and continued this policy during his presidency, perpetrating the Trail of Tears.
